Hi, my name is Emma Griffiths and I’m 21, currently in my fourth year studying for a PR degree at Leeds Metropolitan University.

I recently spent 15 months working in the press office of Morrisons Supermarkets, where I gained some invaluable experience working mainly consumer pr, specifically Beers, Wines and Spirits (dream job you’d think, but not so much!). I’ve also recently ventured into charity PR, I’m eager to investigate this further, as well as the public sector (I’ve experienced B2B and don’t really have much of a desire to pursue this).
I’m now trying to delve into the world of PR 2.0, having spend most of my work experience working amongst traditional methods of PR. I think that this idea of Social Media is something that can’t be ignored by traditional PR for long and the two need to be used in combination for maximum effect.
A bit more about me though. I’m originally from Darlington, NE, and I’m proud of my northern-ness. I’m definitley a northern girl through and through, none of this “the north is anywhere above the Watford gap” nonsense. I love living in Leeds, its such a vibrant city and theres always plenty going on.
I’m somewhat clumsy, often described as a bull in a china shop, I tend to squeak a lot, and my friends often say that the more excited I get, the higher the pitch of my voice. I also believe that my laptop is cursed (it’s been in to be fixed four times in four years). My hair will never be the same colour for too long, I love the Leeds Rhinos, a good catch up with friends, and I’m also quite sarcastic. I also like running and I intend to run the Great North Run this year too.
